Welcome
The following is the original “Welcome” post I wrote when I began this site on August 16, 2005.
Welcome to DomainRookie.com? Huh? Why would anyone be interested in what a rookie says about investing in domains? Simply because I am going through what many of you–in fact I’d venture most of you—are experiencing. That is, the very difficult process of learning the ins and outs of working the domain name investment game. It’s not as easy as it appears, and the competition is pervasive and ruthless.
As I stumble through this, I’ll be posting bits of information I have learned, sites and articles of interest that I’ve found, domains I’m buying and selling, and just about anything else relating to educating myself (and you) in this hobby/business.
I’ve spent a couple weeks now reading everything I could find on domain names. I’ve picked up quite a bit, but I know more than ever, that I’ve got a lot to learn.
I’m hoping that readers who are more experienced than I am will post their comments here to help both myself and the other “rookie” domain investors further our education. If you have some suggestions for what I should cover, please feel free to contact me via the contact form. I have no ego about this—please put me in my place when you see I’ve screwed up. I’m here to learn.
I’m going to write this blog very informally, in the form of a journal. Some posts may be enlightening and some may be of no interest to you. But, I hope that overall you enjoy the site, come back and check it out from time to time, and contribute some comments.
