  1. Hmmm…with these kind of prices I will only be able to invest in one. I guess I’ll take manateeonline.com - I’m sure it gets plenty of type-ins.

Those of us with long memories will recall the old (pre-crash)
Great Domains sale site. It was that that same uncontrolled,
crazy pricing that made it a joke, and ultimately discredited it.
TDNAM had a chance to set up a superb sale portal, but chose to
go down that same sorry path. Who designed their site ?
Probably GoDaddy’s space-cadet programmers, with no business
savvy or corporate memory of what had failed in the past.

So do you think these guys are really serious about their prices, or do they just do this to get attention for their names? Of course, if its for attention, with the pricing they have, no one will ever venture a reasonable bid.

BTW, I’ve figured out how to get the proper valuation for these names I posted. Simply divide by 1,000. That gives you the absolute top price that another idiot might pay the idiot seller.

If anyone reading this is an owner of one of these names, I’d sure like to hear your rationale in these comments.

  4. Domain noob

    Divide by 1000? or 100,000?

    $4K for manateeonline.com or maybe just $4!?

Nearly all the “featured listings” on TDNAM are just guys fishing for suckers arent they?

Or are some of them actually decently valued? I tend to ignore them, am I missing a trick?

    You’re not missing anything.

Just read namepros.com and tdnam.com and look at the names that the members pat each other on the back for and you’ll understand part the problem — many domainers don’t have a clue.

And then people simply are too attached to their own “brilliant” picks. For some personal reason they think a name is really worth something.

And finally, on tdnam, you’ve got the problem of Godaddy putting out way, way too high of appraisals amounts. It’s ridiculous if you ever take the time to read some. In fact, let’s post some fo the craziest ones here. :)
