I happened across a post on WebMasterWorld.com from 2002 called Self Domain Appraisal — the do it yourself test, that I thought was pretty good. A member wrote up 13 metrics to use to self-appraise a domain name. The thread contains comments from other users. She has you assign points to each metric, and the the total points determine the estimated, approximate value for the name. The post is three and a half years old so the assigned dollar value is most likely off due to inflation and changes in the market. But, the metrics still hold. Take a look.
